I’ve gotten several clients into white sneakers this season. I even got myself into them! My Rag and Bone white sneakers have been a go-to shoe for me all summer with pants, skirts, and dresses. I looked down at them the other day and thought, “I’m wearing these into the fall as well!”
I was in Nordstrom this week meeting a client. I was early. I saw Adam in the designer shoe department. He’s my fave shoe guy. I had to preen my sneakers in front of him. He sold them to me.
He’s such a patient sales associate. I always ask for him to help me when I’m shoe shopping with my clients. After he got spoiled by how easy they are to work with, I brought him the really tough client: ME!
He’s a shoe geek so when he enthusiastically insisted I try this product to keep my sneaks clean, I listened! I love a knowledgable guy with knowledge to share!
This cleaning product is called Jason Markk, Premium Shoe Cleaner. It runs about $16. Now I thought he meant it was unique for white sneakers but no, you can use it to clean any shoe. He told the harrowing story of taking his wife’s favorite suede mint green Jimmy Choo suede heels, a pair she’d practically worn into the ground, to clean them up using this product. He was trying to do it behind her back.
Well, he got busted. He was in the middle of using the brush and the sudsy solution when she walked in on him. She shrieked. I would have too! There were her suede heels all wet and sudsy. I’d have had to turn away. But when he finished, she was amazed. They looked brand new.
I’m a cautious late adapter so I’m going to use these on my leather sneakers a few times before tackling finer materials. When I get ready to tackle suede, I may be back to talk to Adam who will happily give me more pep talks.
