Course Overview

This workshop helps image consultants master the closet appointment while practicing rapport-building skills that creates a client for life. Brenda says, "There’s so much that can be done in closet visits that will make your client so happy and eager to continue working with you. This class will teach you the skills you'll need to work with various style recipes, closet scenarios, and different client personalities while continuing to market your services into the right 'next' appointment for her. "

You Will Learn...

In this 8-week teleseminar you will learn how to:

• Create clear objectives at the beginning of each appointment to manage your client’s expectations.

• Differentiate possible style words such as drama, whimsy, youthful into viable wardrobe choices. (Brenda will share her copyrighted Glossary of Style Words for student use.)

• Identify the clothing symbols—color, fabrics, texture, line, pattern, detail and fit—that will best interpret her style words.

• Develop a list of questions and reassuring comments to use as you move create perfect outfits out of what she has while meeting her wardrobe goals. 

• Itemize the professional tools and equipment you’ll need in your closet kit, which will serve you and your client in every closet appointment.

• Analyze the style elements to each outfit, validating your expertise and deepening your client’s understanding of her style.

• Develop a system (out of several possibilities that you’ll learn in class) of documenting outfits that fit her lifestyle; every time she uses this system, she’ll be reminded of you!

• Prepare for numerous closet scenarios; develop communication skills to help you triumphantly win over your client’s confidence even in worst-case scenarios.

• Analyze the management of the closet and wardrobe project; discuss the multiple bite-sized appointments that will efficiently tackle her entire lifestyle needs. 
  
  
• Create marketing strategies to go well beyond closet organization.

Length of Workshop

This teleseminar meets each Thursday for 8 weeks for 90 minute sessions:

• January 27th
• February 3rd
• February 10th
• February 17th
• February 24th
• March 3rd
• March 10th
• March 17th

All teleseminars are on Thursdays starting at 4 p.m. PST/ 7 p.m. EST

The live teleseminar sessions will be recorded so if you miss a session, you will be able to download the audio recording of the class and listen to it at your leisure. Class recordings are generally made available within 24 hours of the class date. For instance, with the class being held on Thursdays, the recording will be available for downloading on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

Format

This workshop is offered via live teleseminar format with instructor, Brenda Kinsel, AICI CIP.

Teleseminars are live workshops that are given over the telephone where you can interact with the instructor as well as the other students. The class size is limited so there is plenty of personal feedback during class sessions. Your long-distance carrier's rates will apply to the phone call.

To Earn 1.0 AICI CEU Credits

You are eligible to earn 1.0 AICI CEU credits for this ten-hour (total) course. To receive these credits, you will be asked to complete an end of course evaluation and list what you’ve learned to do as a result of the course (learning outcomes). By course completion you will be asked to submit to the instructor:

1. A pre-closet marketing piece to use with your clients

2. Completed wardrobe documentation using forms given in class

3. A list of benefit statements to be used in your marketing of the service

4. An action plan for getting new business

You are required to attend at least 7 out of 8 classes. If you miss a class, you must submit a summary of that class (after listening to the recording) in order to receive the CEUs.

About the Instructor

Brenda Kinsel, AICI CIP, is a 25-year veteran of the image industry. A national speaker and author of five popular books on fashion and style, she has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Canada AM, and HGTV as well as numerous radio and newspaper sources globally. A past AICI VP of Marketing on the international board, she has been honored with AICI’s prestigious IMMIE Award. She’s passionate about helping image professionals have more fun and make more money in their careers.
